About The Project

Vi at Silverstone is a 735,650-square-foot, $270 million luxury senior living community that delivers a full continuum of care and resort-style living in one of North Scottsdale’s most desirable locations. The community features 203 independent living residences, 67 single-family villas, and 60 licensed care units offering assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing services.

Designing Vi at Silverstone required a thoughtful and precise approach to land planning and architectural design to meet both functional needs and aesthetic goals. The site’s natural topography, combined with zoning restrictions within the surrounding master-planned community, presented key challenges. In particular, the team had to carefully manage grades and cross slopes to ensure accessibility and ease of movement for a senior population—an essential element for comfort and safety. The public spaces demanded additional design flexibility, with two-story volumes, varied bay sizes, and open, flowing layouts that encourage both social interaction and a sense of grandeur without overwhelming residents.

The design also had to harmonize with the area’s established character and natural setting, calling for a balance of elegance and warmth — something achieved through rich textures, earth-toned materials, and a plan that emphasized outdoor connectivity.

Beyond the impressive scale and variety of accommodations, Vi at Silverstone offers a living experience that is both luxurious and inviting. The campus is centered around Tuscan-inspired architecture often referred to as “Architecture of the Sun” — a style defined by light-filled spaces, generous courtyards, and walkable paths that wind through lush landscaping. The use of stone, warm color palettes, and Mediterranean details connects the built environment seamlessly to the surrounding Sonoran Desert landscape.

Residents enjoy resort-like amenities, including an 18-hole championship putting course, beautifully designed community spaces, and an overall environment that blends beauty, function, and care in every detail. Vi at Silverstone not only raised the bar for senior living in Arizona — it set a new standard nationally. The project was honored with a RED Award in 2011 as the Best Multi-Family Development, a reflection of its visionary planning, design excellence, and enduring impact on the community.
